Feb 26, 2026 Columbia University Students, Faculty, Staff, & Community came out to protest the abduction of yet another Columbia student by ICE. 

Since March 2025 too many international students have been taken by ICE. 

The Columbia Board of Trustees have done too little to resist ICE. Many believe they paved the way for the cruel Trump agenda. 

With help from Mayor Mamdani, Ellie Aghayeva was released later the same day, but other Columbia students who engaged in political speech have not been so fortunate. 

Mahmoud Khalil is a Columbia graduate. He was held by ICE for four months starting March 2025 and is still a target for attempted deportation for his political speech.

Leqaa Kordia is a New Jersey resident who was detained in March 2025 after she participated in a Columbia protest. She is being held in a Texas detention center.

Yunseo Chung is a Columbia student targeted by ICE for attempted deportation over her political speech. 

Ranjani Srinivasan is a Columbia student forced by ICE to flee the country over her political speech. 

Mohsen Mahdawi is a Columbia student held by ICE and targeted for attempted deportation for his political speech. On Feb. 11, 2026, an immigration judge terminated the deportation proceedings against him.
